Christman’s Cycle Sales Inc., 6136 State Hwy 5, Palatine Bridge, NY will be closing our doors on August 31, 2020 after 66 years in business.
The business was started by Owen Christman in 1954, taking on British motorcycles as a BSA dealer.
Owen saw the promise of the Japanese brand of Honda motorcycles as an opportunity to grow his business. While working on motorcycles, he was a full time employee of the NYS Thruway until his retirement in 1985 at 55 years old. He then devoted fulltime to the Honda motorcycle business.
The Honda franchise was started in July 1963. We have sold motorcycles, ATV’s and SxS’s. This has been a family business with Owen, Beverly, and son Barry entering the business after college in 1973. Barry has been general manager/CEO, and with his wife, Debbie has run the business for the last 15 years. Now 68 years old, Barry has decided to retire and close the business.
At this time Barry’s dad Owen, 92 years old is a resident at Palatine Nursing Home, and is doing well. His wife Beverly passed away in January of this year. She was 89 years old.
We want to thank all of our loyal customers for their support and friendships over the years. We couldn’t have done it all without you!
